The other thread was getting a little long so I figured it was a good time to start a new one. Not really sure what to expect this year. Pre-season won't tell you a whole lot, but I was happy to see his improvement in game 2. Obi brings an energy and excitement level to the Knicks, especially at the Garden that Randle never will. But, Thibs is Thibs, and Randle's getting paid a lot of money. Thibs always falls back on the "Defense" statement, but the Randle is a bit overrated on defense as well. In addition, with Brunson running the show, Randle will get fewer touches, so do you need a guy making that much who will no longer be the main focal point? The Knicks move the ball better when Obi is in. Randle has skills, but I just don't think the Knicks are better when he's in vs Obi.

So, at this point, Thibs being Thibs, and Randle being paid big $, I don't see a lot more minutes for Obi. I think they will go up a bit, but Randle's still going to pull down 32 minutes at least. In the end, seems like one of them has to go, but the Knicks front office seems to have no desire to really move Randle or Obi, and it's easy to keep Obi on his rookie contract and not worry too much about it. This all only works so far, because Obi is a great team player and will do whatever it takes to make the Knicks successful.

UD has been known to as they say keep it in the house when there's unrest amongst the team but don't you think the fans deserve to know a little bit about what's going on? We only ( or they) dressed 8 players last night in the win over Alcorn. When these recruits sign with the team, there's HEADLINES but then they suddenly disappear with hardly any mention. Baker ,was supposed to be a BIG find that we lost out the first time, Kaleb I guess has been in the doghouse since he's been here ( so was Nwokeji at one time) and Amalfule??. I think the team is turning the corner and maybe they just didn't buy in to Grant's schemes. Just wondering.....

I've been waiting to hear any info about Mali and Kobe and have been checking other threads to no avail. I think it might be best to have a dedicated thread where folks who want an update to go to without having to search or start a new post for every injury. So perhaps once folks hear something maybe they could post in this thread.

I'm thinking this could be used for future injuries (God forbid) or other health issues (i.e. Koby). Let's try to limit what is posted to solid information and keep the team discussion in the in-season thread. Thanks

Holmes challenging himself to play harder and smarter. So message sent, Homes even put a chip on his shoulder about the fans who have turned on them…let me stop for a second…..check any ones message board when a team loses lol fans attack, Look, this group has to sellout and play hard more consistently and starting this Sat show they can win away from home and take a punch and not fold when things go sideways. That’s culture and identity. I am very optimistic that we can win in Brooklyn. Of course it all depends on health.
