Breakout player

Let’s get the ball rolling!!! Locked in on the season and the Bahama trip to see where the boys are on a National basis. Clearly hinges on Mali Health. I have been watching Last years games and a Player that we need to Break out and we don’t talk about much is……RJ… this kid makes plays lIke dunk against Capitol and Richmond that brings us out of our seats. He is to his credit is our best defender. However when you focus on him the motor is not always reved up. Stands around a bit too much on offense where he can get to the hoop and give us the tip or dunk that can change a game. 6.5 and 3.5 In 22 min. With his athletic ability and the strength you’ can see he has added he has much more upside. Get him to 10 and 5 or 6 and we become significantly better. Teams will focus on Holmes ..Camara and Smith. lets get RJ more involved from a coaching standpoint but also by him attacking more often.

Big Ten to add USC & UCLA

Thought this may be worthy of its own thread. Multiple reports that the B1G is adding the two LA schools, and rumors of Oregon/Washington possibly next.

With the SEC adding Texas and Oklahoma, and the Big XII movement, this could be a domino falling that really will shake things up.

I worry schools like Dayton will be left out in the next shakeup. Could have far-reaching effects for the entire college athletics landscape.

Big East

So Gonzaga is out and UConn football led by Jim Mora , and ps he didn’t go there to be an independent will leave for thebACC. I never doubted that we would be in the Bit East… I took a beating on this site ..oh will never happen… stay tuned boys….Great Day to be a Flyer…by the way…screw them…get the best Schools in A 10 and get a better Tv deal. Big East has no choice now, football rules the day and Gonzaga is all but gone….

TV Schedule Questions

Am I the only one not finding the TV schedule for the first half of this season anywhere? Per the Dayton flyers schedule website, there are no planned TV games (with the exception of the ESPN coverage of Bad Boy Mowers in November) until January 13th @VCU. After that point, it seems the rest of the season is picked up by CBSSN, USA Network, and ESPN networks.

In years past, it always seemed that they'd post WHIO TV for many of the other non-national games. Those WHIO TV games would be picked up by ESPN+ more often than not. Does anyone know if that will be the case again? For those of us out-of-towners, it affects the streaming service we would switch to for the season (most likely Hulu+ bundle if I know games will be picked up on ESPN+).

2022 Offseason Thread

Thought maybe it was worth getting this thread started already. Seems likely we will see some roster turnover and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some coaching turnover as well.

Sounds likely we will try to add at least two new players, possibly more. Think we would all agree that a ball-handling, playmaking guard is #1 on the priority list and maybe another big or “tall wing” player.

Would not be surprised to see John Brannen and/or Matt McCall on staff next season though I don’t have any inside info on this.

I’m sure Matt will keep us all informed on the best place on the internet to discuss Flyer Hoops. I can’t wait for next season already.
