Saw in the Daily news that Dayton is giving 1250 in stipends to the athletes here which is very low compared to most numbers I've seen so far. Average seems to be closer to 3,000 with VCU up over 4,000 and UC 5-6,000. Being one of the most successful Division one programs profit wise I just wonder why we're lowballing the student athletes with the stipends and if it will effect recruiting down the road. Money talks in this day and age so I wonder how much this could influence a kid's decision as to where he ends up.
