Welcome to the 16th installment of The War Room for the off-season of 2011. As always, I'll begin this session with the ground rules for those that may be new. Everything that is reported in The War Room must stay in The War Room. Sometimes the info is sensitive enough that it simply doesn't need to be passed on beyond the doors of this message board thread.

This is a special feature for our subscribers only. The reason why it is posted on the premium board is because that's the only way to ensure that the info stays exclusive to Dayton Flyer fans. Thanks for your cooperation. Here it is, the 16th edition of The War Room for the 2011 off-season:

This is going to have a recruiting focus with it being evaluation month. So here we go...

This is going to be rather brief as I'm heading to the hospital in seven hours for my wife's c-section as we welcome in our second child into this world. I wanted to get you guys updated on what you might not have heard this week and things you were wondering. Let's start at the top.

The U is oUt
I've seen comments about people wondering about the University of Miami (Florida) home and home that was said to be nearing its completion a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, my sources are telling me that the contract is off the table and it's looking VERY unlikely that these two teams will not meet this season unless its in the postseason.

The Flyers are looking to replace that game with another high major home and home or possibly a "New Mexico-like home and home" with a mid-major-plus opponent. My source went on to say that the model by the previous staff with George Mason and New Mexico and Creighton seemed to work in UD's favor so they wouldn't be opposed to that type of series.

Rosey with Rozier?
I've received emails asking about Terry Rozier and where the Flyers stand after Dayton was omitted from his school lists in the last couple of articles written on him. I was assured by his high school coach Dany Young that UD is in Rozier's top 5. Terry backed that up by saying they are still high on his list.

Coach Miller was watching him at the Peach Jam this week. When I mentioned to Terry the possibility of playing together with his AAU teammate in college, Terry replied, "Yea, it's possible!" Cincinnati, Illinois, West Virginia, and Cleveland State are also high on his list.

Ray Doesn't Know Karate
R.E.A.C.H.'s Ray Lee received an offer from Dayton a little more than a month ago. Both Dayton and Louisville tried to get him on campus prior to the last dead period, but transportation issues prohibited that from happening. Central Michigan, Iowa State, and Toledo are also pursuing him hard.

He told me that Archie Miller is supposed to be coming to Las Vegas and Los Angeles for the last two events of the AAU circuit to watch him. After AAU, he is hoping to finally be able to make it to UD's campus.

Running an Eron
Last, but not least, it was reported earlier in the week that Indiana native Eron Harris received a Dayton offer and one from Kent State and Buffalo. I talked with Eron in the middle of this week and he seemed very excited about his Dayton offer.

He told me that once AAU season ends, Dayton will most likely be one of the first schools he visits. Harris also told me that he'll visit Wisconsin as well, but doesn't know anybody else just yet. Xavier and New Mexico are also recruiting Eron hard, but as of now his biggest offer is likely Dayton. The Flyers have impressed him and are near the top of his list right now. All the offers and pursuits have me excited to cover August and September!

That does it for this edition of the War Room. Thanks everyone for your continued support and please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we brace for this exciting moment in our lives. I'll keep everyone updated!
