Couple hot takes in no particular order from today's picnic:
Everyone was there except Joey Gruden. This was sad for my son since Joey is his favorite player and I promised him I'd try to get a picture.
Sam Miller looks thinner than last year.
Xeyrius looks bigger.
Trey Landers looks solid.
People were pretty excited about Jordan Davis.
Kostas is very tall with very long arms and huge hands. He's thin but didn't look weak to me if that makes any sense - more wiry.
Madeline Blais from the women's team looks painfully thin. Coach Jabir said something about everyone being healthy, and she introduced herself to the crowd from the stage as did the rest of the team, but I cannot imagine she will play this year. She spent quite a bit of time in the hospital with colitis/C Diff as I understand it. She looked to be feeling okay today though. Hope she recovers.
Kelley Austria looked to be moving fine and as above, is said to be healthy.
Archie mentioned that the schedule will be tough. Said the team has a lot of talent but is going to have to work hard, grow, and sacrifice if they want to reach their goals, including a 4th straight NCAA tournament, to have the seniors be the all-time winningest class, and to hopefully repeat as A10 champs.
Each player introduced themselves and Cooke gave a shoutout to Big Steve.
Just some random thoughts. Last thing is it seemed to me that Kendall Pollard just didn't look like he was moving great. Maybe I'm projecting, but he just seemed a little stiff.
