VCU game starts a huge week. Davidson is at Bonnie on Tuesday so the game could be for First Place in the conference. VCU has beaten us 4 straight and is on a roll coming in. The 2 best defensive teams in the league. So it will be low scoring, who turns who over etc but my key to the game is RJ Blakney. Perhaps Tom E can help me here with his great stats. So In the Friday game and against Mason RJ had zero points ..1 rebound in 32 min of play. They were our 2 lowest scoring games this season. RJ is a terrific on ball defender and ignites the press when we are in it. BUT…….he needs to be more aggressive on the glass and around the rim. I can’t remember the last time he tipped a ball in or really battled on the boards for a offensive rebound. The staff needs to get him flying around on offense , forget the 3 get us a couple of putbacks off our misses…and there will be plenty. Chris Johnson was great at that and RJ has the athleticism to do it… need to lite his Fire.
