I have always thought it was a matter of time before Dayton was invited into the Big East. The announcement of Colorado last nite to the Big 12 will start a new set of dominos to fall. Brett Yormark the commissioner of the BIg 12 is a brilliant guy an out of the box thinker saving a Conference that many had left for dead. The TV deal with the PAC 12 did not go as well as expected and now we will see 3 more schools move to the BIg 12. UCONN is on the clock, will they take the money and make the move. I believe they will and leave an open spot in the BIg East. Dana Oneill who is connected thinks it will be Dayton if UConn bolts. Regardless the BIg East will need to expand and increase their TV deal to assure they don’t lose the likes of Nova and or Creighton if Yormark follows thru with basketball on;y schools, ie Gonzaga. Now does the BIg East have the stones to bring in Gonzaga despite the travel ? should be an interesting August.
