1. VCU (14-2) ... 6-point win at home vs. St. Louis, 3-point win at Richmond. 10 straight wins for these Rams. Last week: No. 1. Week ahead: at George Mason, home vs. St. Joseph's.

2. Davidson (12-4) ... 10-point loss at LaSalle, 25-point win at home vs. Fordham. The road losses at St. Joseph's, UMass and LaSalle are a bit baffling. Last week: No. 2. Week ahead: home vs. St. Bonaventure, at Richmond.

3. Dayton (11-5) ... 24-point win at UMass, 2-point loss at home vs. Rhode Island. Last Week: No. 3. Week ahead: home vs. LaSalle, at Duquesne. The week started with the Flyers winning their first game at UMass in 15 years. Then Davidson loses at LaSalle, propelling Dayton into sole possession of second place in the venerable A10. Then a popular pundit tells us he's got ol' UD in the first four out for the NCAA Tournament. What a week! Smoke begins billowing from the dream machines. Win out and the Flyers don't have to face VCU at Barclays Center until Sunday! Get to the championship game in New York and let the dancin' begin!! I'm telling you, those dream machines were burning up. Admit it. Admit it! ... And then came Friday night. Then ... came ... Friday ... night. And with all the motivation you can possibly imagine a team would need, three of the Flyers' five starters opt to take the night off. What? Say again? No. You heard me right. Opt to take the night off. No fire. No fury. No nothing. But still, at the end, a couple of golden opportunities to flat steal a victory. The dream machines are refusing to die. But the ball ... just ... won't ... fall. You know, you can win a regular-season A10 championship with six road victories (the Flyers have those this year), but it would be mighty difficult to capture a conference crown with three home losses (the Flyers have those, too). That's something to ponder for next year. It's also something to ponder for Wednesday night, when LaSalle strolls into town. Make it four losses at home this year and the mad scramble begins to determine just how low the Flyers could go in Brooklyn with a loss at Duquesne in the regular-season finale. From such pleasant dreams to the nightmare scenario. Surely the Flyers won't let that happen.

4. St. Bonaventure (11-5) ... 19-point win at home vs. Duquesne, 6-point win at George Washington. Six straight wins and 9-2 in last 11. Tough closing week. Last week: No. 5. Week ahead: at Davidson, home vs. St. Louis. Gotta figure VCU's Mike Rhoades is the conference coach of the year, but you can't ignore the work of the Bonnies' Mark Schmidt.

5. Duquesne (10-6) ... 19-point loss at St. Bonaventure, 7-point win at home vs. UMass. Last week: No. 4. Week ahead: at St. Louis, home vs. Dayton.

6. George Mason (10-6) ... 14-point win at home vs. Richmond, 10-point loss at St. Louis. Last week: No. 6. Week ahead: home vs. VCU, at George Washington.

7. St. Louis (9-7) ... 6-point loss at VCU, 10-point win at home vs. George Mason. Last week: No. 7. Week ahead: home vs. Duquesne, at St. Bonaventure.

8. Rhode Island (7-9) ... 27-point win at home vs. George Washington, 2-point win at Dayton. Last week: No. 10. Week ahead: at St. Joseph's, home vs. UMass. Two game left to determine who'll be joining UMass and Fordham for Wednesday afternoon games in Brooklyn in front of the ushers.

9. LaSalle (7-9) ... 10-point win at home vs. Davidson, 10-point loss at St. Joseph's. Last week: No. 9. Week ahead: at Dayton, home vs. Fordham.

10. Richmond (6-10) ... 14-point loss at George Mason, 3-point loss at home vs. VCU. Last week: No. 8. Week ahead: at UMass, home vs. Davidson.

11. St. Joseph's (6-10) ... 14-point win at Fordham, 10-point win at home vs. LaSalle. Last week: No. 13. Week ahead: home vs. Rhode Island, at VCU.

12. George Washington (4-12) ... 27-point loss at Rhode Island, 6-point loss at home vs. St. Bonaventure. Last week: No. 11. Week ahead: at Fordham, home vs. George Mason.

13. UMass (3-13) ... 24-point loss at home vs. Dayton, 7-point loss at Duquesne. Last week: No. 12. Week ahead: home vs. Richmond, at Rhode Island.

14. Fordham (2-14) ... 14-point loss at home vs. St. Joseph's, 25-point loss at Davidson. Last week: No. 14. Week ahead: home vs. George Washington, at LaSalle.
