  1. VCU (8-2) ... 10-point win at George Washington, 30-point win at St. Bonaventure. A stat to note: Going into play 2/10, these Rams ranked 341 out of 353 in D-I 3-point shooting at 29.3 percent. That's better than Rhode Island's Rams (more on them later) but pretty abysmal. Conference record at home 4-0, on the road 4-2. Last week: No. 2. Week ahead: home vs. Richmond, at Dayton.
  2. Davidson (8-2) ... 15-point win at home vs. Rhode Island, 3-point loss at UMass ... and Pipkins didn't play for the Minutemen. Unacceptable. Conference record at home 5-0, on the road 3-2. Last week: No. 2. Week ahead: at Fordham, home vs. St. Joseph's.
  3. George Mason (8-3) ... 14-point loss at Richmond, 8-point win at home vs. LaSalle. Conference record at home 4-1, on the road 4-2: Last week: No. 3. Week ahead: home vs. UMass, at St. Bonaventure.
  4. Dayton (8-3) ... 13-point loss at St. Louis, 29-point win at Rhode Island. Take away Langevine's shooting stats (all deep in the paint) and the rest of the Rhode Island Rams shot 7-38 (18 percent). Some credit to the Flyers, but there's no escaping the fact that this URI team just can't shoot (more about that later). Conference record at home 4-1, on the road 4-2. Last week: No. 4. Week ahead: home vs. VCU.
  5. Duquesne (7-4) ... 2-point loss at home vs. St. Bonaventure, 8-point win at Fordham, where the Dukes trailed 51-33 with 14:27 to play. Conference record at home 4-2, on the road 3-2. Last week: No. 5. Week ahead: at LaSalle, home vs. George Washington.
  6. St. Louis (6-5) ... 13-point win at home vs. Dayton, 30-point loss at St. Joseph's. Billikens have lost five of their last six. Hard to imagine losing by 30 at St. Joseph's and moving up a notch, but Rhode Island earned a deep dip. Conference record at home 4-2, on the road 2-3 (three straight losses). Last week: No. 7. Week ahead: at George Washington, home vs. LaSalle.
  7. St. Bonaventure (5-5) ... 2-point win at Duquesne, 30-point loss at home vs. VCU. Another 30-point loss (this one at home) and another advance in the rankings. Again, thank Rhode Island. Conference record at home 2-3 (three straight losses), on the road: 3-2. Last week: No. 8. Week ahead: at St. Joseph's, home vs. George Mason.
  8. LaSalle (5-5) ... 14-point win at home vs. St. Joseph's, 8-point loss at George Mason.Explorers have won four of their last five. Conference record at home 2-3, on the road 3-2. Last week: No. 9. Week ahead: home vs. Duquesne, at St. Louis.
  9. Rhode Island (5-6) ... 15-point loss at Davidson, 29-point loss at home vs. Dayton. Rams have lost four of their last five. Hard to imagine a worse 3-point shooting team, and that's because there are none. Going into 2/10 play, the Rams ranked dead last in D-I: 351 out of 351 (25.8 percent). Conference record at home 3-2, on the road 2-4. Last week: No. 6. Week ahead: home vs. Fordham.
  10. Richmond (4-7) ... 14-point win at home vs. George Mason, 26-point win at home vs. George Washington. Spiders have won three of their last four. Conference record at home 2-4, on the road 2-3. Last week: No. 12. Week ahead: at VCU.
  11. St. Joseph's (4-7) ... 14-point loss at LaSalle, 30-point win at home vs. St. Louis. Conference record at home 4-2 (four straight wins), on the road 0-5. Last week: No. 11. Week ahead: home vs. St. Bonaventure, at Davidson.
  12. UMass (2-9) ... 18-point at loss at home vs. Fordham, 3-point win at home vs. Davidson. How's that week for madness? Conference record at home 2-4, on the road 0-7. Last week: No. 13. Week ahead: at George Mason.
  13. George Washington (3-7) ... 10-point loss at home vs. VCU, 26-point loss at Richmond. Conference record at home 1-4, on the road 2-3 (three straight losses). Last week: No. 10. Week ahead: home vs. St. Louis, at Duquesne.
  14. Fordham (1-9) ... 18-point win at UMass, 8-point loss at home vs. Duquesne, where the Rams blew an 18-point lead and were outscored 41-15 over the last 14:27. Conference record at home 0-5, on the road 1-4. Last week: No. 14. Week ahead: home vs. Davidson, at Rhode Island.

Looks like 12 wins should get you into the top four in Brooklyn. Gotta figure, barring calamities, VCU and Davidson get to 13 or higher. But who gets to 12. St. Bonaventure would need to finish 7-1, St. Louis 6-1, Duquesne 5-2, Dayton and George Mason 4-3. The unforeseen certainly can happen, and maybe somebody gets into the top four with 11 wins and tiebreakers, but right now it looks it's three teams vying for two spots. Who makes it?
