I’ve been reluctant to share this to respect their privacy, but you all may have noticed Ron Thaman’s absence from this year’s Dayton Athletics coverage.
Ron has taken a step back so he can be with and take care of his wife Joy as she battles some health issues. It started I believe this summer when Joy had the first of a dozen or so seizures and Ron found her on the floor in the bathroom. Doctor’s didn’t know what had happened to her at the time and she had no recollection.
It got even more serious when she had one behind the wheel of the car and Ron grabbed the wheel in time for them to avoid any collision and they ended up in a ditch.
They’ve recently put her on seizure medicine, but she’s experienced two more in the past 48 hours.
Please pray for Joy Thaman. They’re such great people and friends and have been like a third set of grandparents to my children. Get well soon, Joy, we will all be praying for your speedy recovery!
