I know we're having a bad year so I checked around other conferences to see who else might be on a downer as well. Big Ten has a bunch this season where Wisconsin a frequent visitor to the elite eight and even final four is only 10-15 so far..Iowa another pretty decent team recently is 12-13. Archies school, Indiana is .500 at 12-12 and headed for a losing record/.The fan favorite of the B.East UConn is below .500 as well as Northern Iowa who some think should be the team to replace Lasalle if they decide to split the conference.Even with all that Wright has done for Colorado they're only 13-10 with a losing Pac 12 record.Even though we haven't been in this situation for more than ten years we're not the only recently successful team going through a tough year. Also noticed even though they're still above .500 the Irish are on a 7 game losing streak and probably miss the dance after being top ten for half the season.Checked the A Ten tournament scenarios and if the season ended today w'd be the 11th seed playing 14th seed G.W.in the first night of the tournament. Quite a drop from last years A Ten regular season champion and number one seed.Scary part is we're not that far from 14, certainly closer to that than the top spot.I guess the only solace I have is Archie's team will probably end up as bad if not worse than Dayton. Crean didn't leave A.M in any better shape than Arch left us and he has to recruit players that can win in the Big Ten where A.G. only has to get A Ten quality players, seemingly a much easier task
