I can understand his feeling the need to step aside citing heath etc. So why not take a leave of absence reevaluate himself etc an step back into lead role rested and ready to go. Just don't pass eye or smell test. He did not have to leave the program to do this. Heck even coach K took a year off but stayed with the program.
Good luck but really Jabir not the way to do it. Suddenly showing up in Denmark discounts the need to be with family. Sorry not buying it.
