From the Hall of Famer's recent book "Memoirs of the Original Smooth as Silk".
"Johnny Davis was the quickest player I've ever played against. He may have been the fastest ever in terms of pure quickness. I played against him in college and in the NBA's Pacific Division and clearly understood what the Lakers had been up against when they faced him. The only other guy I ever went against who could match his quickness was Spud Webb of the Atlanta Hawks and Nate "Tiny" Archibald with the Kansas City Kings."
Here are some highlights from yesteryear, the 1977 Portland Trailblazers, one of the greatest teams from the era. This was the first time I saw Johnny Davis play, since I never saw the Flyers play before 1981. What a dynamic player he was.
