i just received my baskets gold sheet and the flyers have the same power rating as VCU ,(6), which is 3 points better than IU and only 10 points short of the top rated team, Kentucky (-4). Per the gold sheet initial power ratings we would be "pick it" vs. St Mary's(6) on a neutral court although the line will be higher than that since this was the gold sheet rating before the first week of the season and St Mary's looked pretty impressive and we struggled a bit vs ISU. The gold sheet obviously values our new players and returning vets.
the gold sheet is the bible for sports handicappers although basketball makes me too nervous to wager on .
this power rating is very encouraging and carries more weight with Vegas than any other handicapping service or Ken Pom or the ridiculous BPI,
since the gold sheet was founded in 1957, and still influences the line setters in Vegas.
This is not sarcasm and i am permitted to say positive things about Flyer basketball.
