First concerns a vote out in California allowing student athletes to get compensated for their likeness and things like autographs I believe. Won't take effect till 2023 but that leaves the NCAA in a quandary since as of now that's not allowed for student athletes and they've intimated all players from California would be ineligible for postseason play.

Don't know if it pertains to whole teams or just players who actually made money. If some other states do the same maybe it forces the NCAA to allow payments to athletes sometime in the near future.

The other thing going on is the NCAA just passed new regulations concerning transfer eligibility waivers like the one Chase is trying for. They're essentially making it harder for those waivers to be given.I don't know what exactly his waiver was being argued for but it may have just hit a snag. Hopefully not as we need his size early in the OOC.
