First let me say a win is a win especially a road win. With that said I am concerned about this team. Some things need to be righted and pretty quick and some players need to step it up and pretty quick.
Team: 1: If we get nothing on our fast breaks and pushing the ball we are hurting. Our half court offense just is not jelling well at all. 2: Excessive fouling. I know some of it is officiating but some really dumb fouls are being committed that needs to stop 3: Rebounding needs to get better, and 4: Unforced turnovers need to be limited.
Individual: Smith: Just not the same player he was first 6 games. Not sure what the problem is but we need the old Schoochie. Pollard: Here's another one not playing up to his potential. Just seems lost at times. Need him to play better and smarter. Big Steve: Just stay out of foul trouble. With his size I'm not sure why he is always trying to front his man when he could play behind and not commit as many fouls. Pierre: Just need for him to get into his true form soon! Cooke just needs to work on consistency. Both Davis's need to get to last years form and soon.
Last 4-5 games (except for first 13 minutes of Arkansas game) this team has been out of whack for lack of better terms . Hopefully this team will come together soon. You can bet Archie is very concerned at this point.
The good news is , as bad as we have looked and played at times, we are 11-2. I will take that any day.
Maybe it's just the last two years of UD basketball has raised my expectations. Like all of you I want to see UD reach the upper levels of DI basketball.
