Losses to 200+ teams by tenure:
Brian Gregory: 3 in 8 years
Archie Miller: 3 in 6 years
Anthony Grant: 15 in 7.5 years
I know this was talked about a little in the UMass game thread, but I think this merits a little more discussion. What is the reason for this? I would argue that AG plays in an easier A10 than both BG and AM, has better talent, and better facilities than AG and BG. There is no excuse for AG to have X5 as many losses than AM and BG in roughly the same amount as time.
Personally, I think its coaching. AG's teams have always started slow in games. That is not just a problem this year. And in my opinion we never play with enough urgency when we need to. And you can go back through my posts over the years, but this has been a complaint of mine since day one of AG. How many times are we down at the end of a close game and we are still walking the ball down the court and still trying to run sets that take way too much time off the clock? How many times have we waited too long to turn up the pressure on defense? How many times have we tried to run clock with 8min left and let other teams get back into games? This is all lack of urgency and lack of a killer instinct from AG.
Thoughts?
